Jermaine Lovejoy is a child of Douglasville, GA. In his young 37 years, he was an athlete while attending Stewart Middle School and Lithia Springs High School. He has coached local area recreation teams for 12 years, he also is employed with the Douglas County School System, is a devoted church and choir member, father, husband, son, mentor, peer and friend. Coach Jermaine Lovejoy became ill in the Spring of 2010 and was hospitalized for an extended period of time. Failing to fully recover, Coach Lovejoy was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis. Pulmonary Fibrosis occurs when lung tissue becomes damaged and scarred. This thickened, stiff tissue makes it more difficult for your lungs to work properly. As pulmonary fibrosis worsens, you become progressively more short of breath. The lung damage caused by pulmonary fibrosis can’t be repaired. Due to the extensive and irreparable damage done to Coach Lovejoy’s lungs, he will need a double lung transplant. THANKS for your support! |
